About Us

The Palouse is known for it’s pristine wheat-fields, community-oriented approach…

…and athletics.

While the Palouse can appear unassuming and modest, full of tiny closet farm communities spread out across the breadbasket of Washington, youth, high school, and collegiate sports shine. In every team sport, the High Schools of the Palouse are perennial contenders at the state level; humble and small as the communities may be, excellence is the standard.

Small as our officiating organizations may be, we match that standard of excellence.

From AAA professional baseball and Division 1 men’s and women’s basketball, to the WA High School scene, the groups under RefPalouse consistently produce high quality officials and tailor their mentorship approaches to best match your goals. Whether you simply want to enjoy officiating a low-pressure youth game, or reach a State Championship, we are the group for you.

The hours are flexible, the pay ranges from $45 to $100+ per game, and the training emphasizes the pillars of the Palouse: community, excellence, hard work, and FUN.

Football, Basketball, Baseball, Fastpitch Softball, or Slow Pitch softball, we have opportunities for YOU to get back in the game! Officials benefit from the exercise, camaraderie, community, intellectual challenge, and yes, the money as well.

We take care of all the training and will provide the tools you need to succeed! Simply click on your sport, type in your name and email, and one of our coordinators will reach out to you quickly, and get you started on your officiating journey. Come join the RefPalouse team today!

Kellen Martin, a PUA alumnus, is currently making his mark in professional baseball as an umpire in MiLB Triple-A. His advancement through the ranks showcases the skill, dedication, and foundation built through his time with our officiating community.

Scott Brown, a SEWBOA alumnus, has built an impressive career at the highest levels of basketball officiating. Now in his 19th year at the Division I level and his 3rd year in the NBA G League, Scott’s journey is a testament to the opportunities and excellence that begin right here at RefPalouse.
